Offering the Finest in Hand Crafted Heirlooms

Welcome to our Bed Quilts Page

An Amish seamstress at work Each of our quilts is comprised of a multi-colored top patchwork layer with a single colored bottom layer that sandwiches a central fiberfill core. All of our full-sized quilts have over 400 individual patches.  While many of our more intricate designs have over 900 separate patches! All patchwork panels are hand selected, and hand sewn by skilled seamstresses in a painstaking process that requires weeks of effort.

Sorry, due to their unique nature and the time required to create them, bed and baby quilts are not exchangeable or returnable.

To add value and provenance to each quilt for heirloom purposes, upon customer request at the time of order, the head seamstress will embroider her initials and date of completion on the reverse side of the quilt.

Bed Quilts
Introducing the remarkable Nautical Stars Quilt
Click for a larger image Click for a larger image Every so often we discover something so extraordinary, so unique, that we feel compelled to inform our loyal customers.  This is such a time.

A 'good' bed quilt typically contains about 400 individual patches. An extraordinary bed quilt has up to 1000 individual patches. And, a truly remarkable bed quilt has up to 2000 individual patches. The quilt pictured to the left has an unbelievable 3049 individual patches!

The Nautical Stars quilt, designed by renowned quilt designer Judy Mathieson, has been designated as one of "the best 100 quilts ever made".   The details and embedded images in this quilt are astounding, in part depicting that which makes these United States so special.   This quilt is king size, measuring approximately 108" by 113".   It is completely hand made and quilted in the United States by highly skilled Amish seamstresses.   Surrounding the central "Northern Star" (more on this in a bit) fly 800 geese, passing through sunlit and completely darkened night scenes.   Surrounding the geese lie 20 separate stars, each unique and each with something special.

Now for the central Northern Star. Put your mouse cursor over the Northern Star photograph to the far left and slightly below this paragraph, and click.  Do you see her?  Right there in the center of the star is Sacagewea.   Sacegewea is one of our country's historic figures, being the 16 year old Shoshone Indian, who as a guide, led the Lewis and Clark Expedition through what is now Idaho in 1804.   Having married Toussaint Charbonneau, a member of the Expedition, Sacagewea gave birth to a son Jean Baptiste in 1805.   Upon her death at the age of 22 shortly after giving birth to a daughter Lisette, Captain Meriweather Clarke was so ingratiated by her previous tireless devotion to his Expedition, that he adopted and raised Sacagewea's children as his own.   The images of Sacagewea and infant Jean Baptiste adorn the U.S. 2000 gold dollar coin.

Just to the left of this paragraph is a photograph of the hand quilted Fleur de Lis, of which 20 surround the Northern Star.   Do you see the crescent moon?   Below are two additional star photographs, the Horses Head Star on the far left, and the Alphabet Star to its right.

This truly remarkable piece of art took over 1 year of painstaking work to create by a team of 4 seamstresses.   It is absolutely unique and a remarkable heirloom, worthy of the finest estate. The Nautical Stars quilt is one of the most highly sought after quilts ever made. In late March 2007, a queen size Nautical Stars quilt of a similar color pallet as the one shown here sold for $9000 at auction.

We offer this fine piece of American History, an original hand crafted king size Nautical Stars quilt, for $10,125, plus $ 92 shipping (UPS/Fed X Ground). Insurance is included in the price. We expect this fine quilt to be sold quickly, so if you are interested, we encourage you to place your order by clicking on the button below, or if you prefer, by contacting us today either by telephone (610-692-7650) or e-mail   (AmishDelights@AmishDelights.com).

Due to the unbelievable response we have received while displaying this quilt prior to placing it on our web site, we commissioned the creation of another king size, and several queen size, quilts of this same design.   We are please to announce further that these additional quilts are complete and are available for purchase.   The queen size quilt is priced at $9500, plus $ 82 shipping (UPS/Fed X Ground). Insurance is included in the price.

As with all of our bed and baby quilts, each of the Nautical Stars quilts will be of the same design, yet each will consist of an entirely different pallet from one another, and will be absolutely unique.   Each of these beautiful quilts will certainly increase in value over the years and will add joy and pleasure to your household for generations to come!
